Sydney Foley, 16, Chicago
Lane Tech High School (Chicago)
This is Sydney’s second year with Extensions Dance Company and she couldn’t be happier to be able to train with so many talented dancers under the instruction of Lizzie MacKenzie and the other impeccable teachers at Extensions. Sydney started dancing at the age of three and from that point on, she knew that dance was her passion. She has enjoyed performing and competing in many different styles such as contemporary, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop. Prior to Extensions, Sydney performed in several ballet productions including the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Swan Lake. She also performed with the Chicago Sky Flight Crew at the age of 11. She started competing when she was 10 years old and loves the feeling of being on stage performing. She participated in River North's Summer Intensive this past summer. She has also participated in many workshops and has received several regional and national awards and scholarships.
Joining Extensions has been the best choice ever made by Sydney and her family. She has grown immensely and can’t wait to see where dance takes her. The studio is home-away-from-home for Sydney and all of the girls on the team are like family to her. She is so grateful for everything Lizzie MacKenzie and all of the faculty at Extensions have done for her. Sydney is a Junior at Lane Tech High School. She is in the Alpha Program (Science/Math Honors Program) and STEM Program at Lane. She was also apart of Lane’s Varsity Dance Team for two years and it now on Lane Tech's Middle Eastern Club. Sydney hopes to major in dance and possibly minor in Psychology in college. She also hopes to make dance her profession one day.
Sydney would like to thank the Extensions family and her parents for always believing in her to reach her goals.
