Artistic Staff

Lizzie Mackenzie, Photo by Cheryl MannExtensions Dance Company was founded by Artistic Director Lizzie MacKenzie in 2005 as a means for serious young dancers to thrive both artistically and spiritually. The name Extensions comes from Lizzie's own path at the time, describing how an aspect of one’s life has the ability to expand and extend to become another.

Extensions Dance Company prides itself on the fact that there is no youth company similar. The true intention of the organization is to be a breeding ground of young artists, truly respecting and loving the art not only for the personal satisfaction it provides but more importantly for the positive and lasting effect art has on society. The dancers learn to appreciate differences in themselves and others, understanding that these differences are a means for creativity.

By learning and living this type of thought process through their dancing, they become free thinking members of society who appreciate and encourage freedom of thought, speech and most importantly, expression.

The long-term Artistic Vision at Extensions is to produce dancers, who are not only above average in their technical capabilities, but far surpass the norm in their openness and willingness to exploring the art form of dance in all realms.  As a result of their artistic level, Extension's dancers will feed easily into top Universities, Colleges
and Dance Companies both at home and abroad.
