Amelia Shultz, 15, Chicago
Amelia is currently a homeschooled sophomore in her second year with Extensions Dance Company.
Amelia’s been dancing since her very first days of fairytale-themed ballet classes, and has enjoyed experiences with several Chicago-based dance studios prior to joining Extensions last year. She participated in the Hubbard Street and Elements Contemporary Ballet summer dance intensives this past year.
It’s been a transformative experience training with Lizzie Mackenzie-Pontarelli, the exceptional teachers and talented dancers at the studio, and she’s looking forward to another year of growth through training, numerous benefit performances, and time spent with the Extensions family.
She’s particularly excited about the choreography for the year, which includes contemporary works by Adam Baruch, Garth Johnson, Anna Long, Lizzie Mackenzie-Pontarelli, and Taylor Mitchell, as well as preparing the Raymonda variation for performance at the Youth American Grand Prix, set by Jeff Wolfe.
